| Pseudopodetia loosely clustered, to 7 cm tall, hollow, fragile when dry; perforations elliptic, scattered, mostly on lower side, straw yellow, greenish brown to brownish black. Sterile pseudopodetia erect, ascending, or occasionally prostrate, stout, inflated, regularly tapered towards apex, sparsely dichotomously branched; branches often terminating in cilia-like spines. Fertile pseudopodetia similar to sterile pseudopodetia but more richly branched and perforated. Apothecia rare, solitary or sparingly aggregate, to 0.24 mm wide, slightly concave or flat, brownish black. Ascospores 10–12 × 5 µm, tapering at one end. Conidia 5 × 1 µm. CHEMISTRY: thallus K-, C-, KC-, P+ red. Fumarprotocetraric, barbatic and fatty acids. | ||
